Samsung Galaxy S10 Specs and Battery Life: Leave a comment

Samsung Galaxy S10 Specs, Battery Life and Review:

The Galaxy S10 packs a 3400mAh battery, smaller than the 4000mAh cell in the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Battery   but larger than the Samsung S10e battery  . Battery life on the Samsung S10 is good; however it’s not perfect – especially when watching media-heavy apps or videos on YouTube (which can utilize up to 4GB per second). You might be able to get through most days with light use but if you’re constantly streaming video games like Fortnite while playing online multiplayer mode…you’ll find yourself reverting back into one of their cleverly designed “battery saver” modes where notifications don’t bother interrupting gameplay!

I consider using the Samsung Galaxy S10 throughout my 10-day review process, which includes listening to music on morning and evening commutes; making a few calls; checking social media or email feeds regularly. All stuff you’d expect from any phone every day of course!

Samsung Galaxy S10 Display:

To hide the front-facing camera, most smartphone makers have added a notch at the top of the device to eliminate bezels. Infinity-O displays, which embed the front-facing camera lens directly into the screen, were developed instead by Samsung for all three Galaxy S10 models. A hole-punch-sized cutout is used for the selfie lens on the midsize S10, which is less distracting than the oval cutout on the S10 Plus.

Design:

There is no difference between the Galaxy S10 and any other smartphone on the market besides its holepunch display. Those aren’t bad things, but if you plan on spending more than $1,000 for a new smartphone, you’ll have to wait for foldable phones to arrive this year.

With 6.1-inch dimensions and a $749 price, the S10 is about an ounce lighter than Apple’s 6.1-inch iPhone 11. If size is your deciding factor when choosing a phone, the 5.8-inch S10e is both smaller and cheaper, so go for that device instead.

Color options for the S10 are the same as those for the larger Galaxy S10 Plus, which offers a combination of simple colors (like white and black) and some more bold options (blue, Flamingo Pink). This is a very boring glassy black slab, the Prism Black model. To stand out from the crowd, I recommend Prism White or a shade that you can stand out from. You’ll look like someone who’s a really uncool forensic investigator if you use the black model.

All Galaxy S models are rated IP68 waterproof. This means they will withstand water immersion up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) for about 30 minutes. The Galaxy S10 makes our list of the best waterproof phones due to its respectable performance in the flagship phone world.

Cameras:

Besides the bigger display, the biggest difference between the S10 and S10 Plus is the addition of an 8-megapixel depth-sensing front camera for better selfies. Both devices provide a selfie-portrait function that allows other effects, including windswept backgrounds and black-and-white. Comparing the two cameras side by side, the S10 achieves those effects with software instead of a depth-sensing lens.

I am using the S10’s camera software to take the black-and-white Live Focus photo above, and you can see how messy my hair looks around it. The S10 Plus creates a more natural effect by seamlessly softening the background around them. Both the S10 and S10 Plus have a triple-lens camera array on the back, allowing users to capture different views with telephoto, standard and wide-angle lenses. An image of a Brooklyn storefront was used to compare the galaxy S10 and the Pixel 3. There is a lot of detail in both images including the brick and the gleam of the sign; however, the S10 is more accurate in terms of color; the neon “No Sleep Till” sign actually glowed yellow in real life rather than blue-white.

Despite the S10’s good cameras, the Pixel 3 and the newer Pixel 4 are better options if you are looking for more dramatic pictures, while the iPhones capture more natural-looking pictures.

Security:

We don’t think Samsung is even trying to compete with Apple when it comes to biometric authentication. The unlocked phone and the authentication of payments are key areas in which Samsung needs to improve its security measures.

A photo of a person’s face can fool the S10’s facial recognition. I find that very embarrassing. Choosing to disable Fast Facial Recognition in the S10’s settings prevents the photo trick from working, but there’s still an issue with the facial-authentication method. Apple creates a 3D map of your face using hardware to create Face ID, but Samsung doesn’t.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Performance:

It can be seen from their performance powers that the Galaxy S10 Plus and smaller Galaxy S10 have the exact same specs. The S10 comfortably matches the speed of the larger S10 Plus with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 and 8GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Battery life:

The Samsung Galaxy S10 battery doesn’t have as much juice as the S10 Plus Battery, which boasts a massive 4,100mAh pack. According to expectations, the smaller device has a shorter battery life, though you can still go a long time without having to recharge it. The Samsung S10e battery was not reviewed but has a 3100mAh battery.

A continuous web browsing test on 4G LTE carried out by Tom’s Guide gave the S10 10 hours and 19 minutes of battery life. During our testing, the S10 Plus stayed powered for 12 hours and 35 seconds, ranking near the top of our list of longest-lasting smartphones.

As well as the S9 Plus from 2018, the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus battery is larger, 3,500 mAh, and lasts longer on a charge than the S10. It died after nine hours and 42 minutes, along with its smaller, 3,100-mAh battery. There was a 1:41 difference between the S10 and the iPhone XS. In the face-off between Samsung’s Galaxy S10 and Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro, the Pro lasted four minutes longer than the Galaxy S10.

We wish every smartphone on the market had a Wireless PowerShare feature like those on the Galaxy S10. You can charge any Qi-compatible device with the tool, which can be accessed by swiping down on the shortcuts menu. It worked quickly and seamlessly to charge the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active.

Conclusion:

In spite of its over a year old release date, the Galaxy S10 still delivers fast performance and a stunning screen, with fewer distracting camera cutouts than the larger, more expensive S10 Plus. Furthermore, Wireless PowerShare is my favorite feature of the S10. Thus, you can reverse-charge all your devices even if you don’t have the most expensive Galaxy.

Depending on whether you prefer natural or dramatic shots, Google and Apple’s latest flagships offer better cameras. Those looking for longer battery life will be happier with the S10 Plus, provided they’re okay with a large 6.4-inch screen. On the basis of our comparison, we definitely prefer the S10 over the OnePlus 6T.

A redesigned triple-camera stack on the Galaxy S20 along with 5G connectivity can definitely put the Galaxy S10 to shame when it comes to photography and internet speeds. Ultimately, the Galaxy S10 is an unbeatable option if all you want is a beautifully designed Android smartphone that can do it all – including wireless headphones – at a price you can sleep easy with.
